little question (General) |
Hi Meredith! It´s really nice to see you writing in this forum.
First I would like to congratulate you for all your work and career. You have songs which are like an injection of good energy. Speeding the mood and the power up.
I could never see you live, but I´m not giving up hope... It would be a great experience, I´m sure!
By the way, I always wondered which exactly is the background story of the song "I have everything". It is one of my favourites and since I am Spanish, I always wondered if i was missing something about the lyrics. It is a song about a great friendship between two persons and one of them feels more or thinks that feels more. But... is it a man and a woman? two women? two men? Am i confusing everything too much? Hahaha Sorry, I sometimes analyse everything too much.
Best wishes for you and your son and for all these people who are keeping this forum alive.
Eva
PS: Now that your kid is 3 years old, now you will be enjoying it better. It is a beautiful, funny and tender age. There will be more and more things to do easily together. Enjoy the experience! I would like to see his face when you bring him on stage with you, in front of many people. Somehow it has to be strange (different) to grow up having a musician mum. I guess he will grow up being a broad-minded person. |

little question |
The funniest part is when I start singing around the house now he says "no mom don't sing that!" it makes me laugh because I think of when he will be older and figures out that's what I do. Sometimes I try and say this is mommy's work but he doesn't understand how singing could be work. I tell him to picture the ice cream he gets on Friday's from the ice cream man and how we give him a dollar. Then I say those dollars come from me singing. So one day he grabs a hat and starts singing and I said "oh are you giving a concert?" He said "yes and I am getting dollars in my hat for ice cream like you mommy!" He had remembered the street artists we sometimes watch and how we give them money in their hats so now he thinks I get money from hats!!
Anyway I had to share one cute mommy story in relating to what you said about what it will be like for him to grow up with a musician. It sound as if you have a child too?
As far as I Have Everything goes, I was feeling like I was finally complete within myself with or without external things, but then all of the sudden I realized I didn't have it all because I didn't have this one certain person. Of course it is many miles deeper than that but that is the general idea.
Thanks for keeping in touch.
Hope to see you one day,
Meredith |

Hola Eva
Good to hear from you agin.
I wish more fans would appear here and sharing their own stories about Meredith. It's realy wonderful she came here to respond us. I still love her with her wonderful music and for what she is. I'm glad for her that she enjoyes beeing a mommy and decided to produce a CD for kids. Kids are our future. They are precious. We should educate them to good adults, so they can carry our future and do the right things. Certainly not always easy! - Do you have a family with own kids? I'm single without kids, but I love them and they love me. Could you share how you found out about Meredith? Do not know anymore if you did it already earlier. - Best, Rose |

Hahahaha I guess he can´t understand at all what work means. It might be for him something strange that keeps mummy away for a while. But working and guitar... He will realise it better in the momment he hears you repeating chords until it drives him a bit crazy. Then he maybe tells you "mum, you´ve been playing the same short song the whole day. Don´t you have anything funnier for today?"
Hey, I´m sure he´s rocking it loud with you and he´ll be a COOL child. How many guitarrs did he break so far? Or did you prevent it before and bought him plastic ones?

Good way to explain!

LOL
So sweet! Ice-cream, hat, money, work... It is amazing how the mind processes information and gets the "short" way to an easy self-explanation.
If he gets no money for the ice-cream, then he´ll sing for the ice-cream man every Friday? hahaha

It sound as

Not yet. But for a long time I worked with small children like yours and even younger. Sometimes it is hard and you feel like throwing them through the window, better if it is closed But there are these other sooo many times that just by being themselves (one look, one word, one laugh, one kiss, etc.) they lift your mood and love so up that it is a kind of heaven for the soul.

Thanks!! My question was meant the deeper way, but anyway thanks a lot, Meredith.
By the way, I just remembered I wanted to tell you that you have very good songs. I love your way and I love your music. And specially this one song... Stand! I just have one big WOW to describe it. I think even my magnetic fields get revolutioned with that song hahaha.

» Hola Eva
Guten Tag Rose!

» her with her wonderful music and for what she is.
Yes, it is wonderful. Internet is so magic. I am here in Spain with a coffee after work and all of a sudden there is one way to say something to this woman whose voice I spent so many time with. Das ist soooo toll!
» I'm glad for her that
» she enjoyes beeing a mommy and decided to produce a CD for kids.
Yes, it is a new concept of music for children, I guess. Not a usual CD with boring or silly children songs... Sometimes it was very difficult for me to find different songs to play to the children. They are too old or too silly or too high voices paining my ears hahahaha Or even with very conservative lyrics!!
It is a pitty that the children I know are not English speakers. Otherwise, I would already have my Christmas presents. Hehehe.
» Do you have a family with own kids?
I am still single but in a relationship with a German woman (now you know why I speak a bit of Deutsch). We want to have children but there is still a lot of time, so we are thinking how to do it for it to happen, cos I don´t want to die without having a child of my own, even if it will be not so easy than for a straight woman.
» Could you share how you found out about Meredith?
Of course. I was in a bar with friends and there was a TV add (I think it was a car, but I am not sure. Maybe Meredith can tell better). I don´t know why, I turned my head to the screen and voilà, there it was the song: Bitch. It took me from the first moment on. But can you imagine me, a spanish teenager girl, without internet, with an English language just able to say "I´m hungy" and "My taylor is rich", and then looking for this short part of a song?
LOL. Good thing was that I had (and have) great friends, also musicians and singers. So one month later it was my birthday and i got surprisingly the CD. Blurring the edges.
First thing I did was looking up in the dicctionary what BLURRING meant.
And I still find no good translation into Spanish!!
Viele Grüsse und Bis Bald!!

Hola, guten Abend Eva
Thanks for writing. Your German words sounds nice, thanks. My Spanish is to bad.
I'm happy to hear that you feel similair with our lovely Meredith. You got aware of her almost like I.
I hope that you can have a family one day. - I'm a happy single lady.
For me it feels so good to know Meredith and her music and that she is a happy and certainly wonderful mommy. Some pictures on my living room walls of Meredith together with a black and white card with her signature on it remembers me of her. I have a smile on my face when I have a look at all this pictures...!
Greetings back from me.- Rose |
