Meredith,

Please don't be offended if you read this, but I've had your CD since 1998 and I am wondering if you are Bipolar? I am, and your songs speak to me so deeply. I've always loved your music but even more so now since I have just been diagnosed. Again, please don't be offended, but the words in these songs just ring so true to me. My husband, also a lover of your music, has to agree and your CD is one of our favorites. I was just wondering.....it gets so lonely out here some times. I put your music on and just dance and whirl around and I LOVE IT. I wish you had a new album. I also have a child, much older than yours who is also Biploar and I can hear her in your songs as well.
I don't expect you to write back, but just wanted to share that with you.
I wish you Peace and Love and some one who understands....always and forever.

I don't think that that is a bit bold...there are a lot of people in this world suffering from it. My Mother is one....

Hi Shelly,
There isn't much that could offend me. I am not bi-polar although I have been known to be harmonal(sorry guys!!). I am not making fun either... My body and moods effect me greatly which may be part of the reason I became an artist.
I will say I have survived a lot of trauma from childhood and beat the odds. Maybe some of what you may be hearing and relate to comes from the survival of all that pain and being able to put it into words and music and knowing I am here to talk about it.

Having a child has greatly mellowed the impulse to "just get it out" but I still need my release,my art,my incredible friends and to keep performing or I do get "a little crazy".
If my music has helped you in any way then I am glad. That is what music has done and continues to do for me too.
